Malcolm Tyrrell – A1. Number one

Malcolm tyrrell - 1977 Lost property (ECR, Uk)

What am i supposed to do
Who am I supposed to be ?
What on earth am i doing here ?

Traveled all around this world
No place to call my own
People only see me moving further down road
Got no time - keep on moving - I'm Number one

The car i ride is surely fast
No one can get in front
People, they don't argue, I get everything i want
Got no time - Keep on moving - I'm Number one.

The car has only got one seat
No Passengers allowed
People want to stop and talk but i down't want a crowed
Got on time - keep on moving- I'm Number one

The car down't run on gasoline
it never seems to tire.
Te engine of the car i ride has only one manpower
Got no time keep on moving

What am i supposed to do?
Who am i supposed to be ?
What on earth am i doing here?

Melodic British singer/songwriter, a musical jack-of—all-trades of sorts who samples folk/pop (‘Sunshine Man’), blues (the title cut), folk/psych (the organ-backed ‘Flowers’), country (‘Shoreline’) and gentle acoustic (‘Holy Spirit’). Mostly folky soft-rock realms ala Graham Kendrick, along with a couple ‘Gentle On My Mind’—ish moves where he sounds like England’s answer to Glen Campbell. The opening acoustic rocker ‘Number One’ compares an aimless life to a car ride, including sound effects at the beginning (car starting and speeding 011) and at the end (big loud car crash). Accordion backing brings a melancholy air to the minor-key ballad ‘The Waterfall’. Instruments include acoustic and electric guitars, bass, banjo, piano, organ, steel guitar and drums. Same tiny custom UK label as the Meet Jesus Music debut. (The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).
