Formula IV – If you’re gonna do it do it good (Unreleased Acetate Mix 1974) Rich Cason Funk

Something different today! This Acetate features and unreleased earlier Version of the mid70s West Coast Funk Jam "(If you're gonna do it) do it good" by "Formula IV" later known as "Formula V". The official Version came out as 7" only on "Rocky Road Records" in 1974. This was "Rich Cason's"(RIP) Group. In 1974 they called themselves "Formula IV", in 1977 they changed to "Formula V"! This Song was their 2nd release, and as mentioned above this Acetate contains an unreleased Mix! In the clip you can see the original Song-Text written and printed by "Rich Cason" personally! In the clip you can also see an original Letter from "Richard Delvy" (Producer) to "Bob Monaco" of "ABC Records". Very interesting as "Richard" is writing to "Bob" to listen to closely to Rufus, at this time "Bob Monaco" produced a lot of stuff for "Rufus & Chaka Khan", so there could definitely be a relation! I recorded 95 % of the unreleased mix, so check it out … it's different from the official release! Peace
