Jimmer Glynn – A2. Storm In The Night
Jimmer Glynn – 19?? Jimmer Glynn (Us Private, Folk rock)
Rare, original late 1960's or early 1970's U.S. album. For Rock-Psych and Private Press fans, this is a frankly amazing and apparently completely-unknown LP credited to "Jimmer Glynn," who sounds like a solo artist but could be a group. Sound is gorgeous, melodic, post-psychedelic rock in the vein of Badfinger circa "No Matter What" and "Day After Day," Paul McCartney songs like "Come & Get It," early Todd Rundgren and Emitt Rhodes. All tracks appear to be originals except for a cover of The Beatles' "Yesterday" -- whoever Jimmer Glynn is/was, he definitely loved The Beatles and McCartney in particular. Songwriting, vocals and musicianship are all first-rate; a number of the song arrangements are quite complex, esp. for a private press LP that was released on an almost-unknown label, w/ no information on the front or back cover about the artist.
