Rick Fricano – Squint (Full Tape, 1991)

Here's something new!
I had actually never heard of this guy until a few months ago when I found this tape on Ebay. It's funny, it was listed as if he was someone you'd know, but googling his name only brought up a few albums from around 2015-2016. I listened to a few of his albums, liked them, and dropped the $20 for the tape.
It was definitely the same guy, but with vaguely more primal songwriting, meltier guitars and a drum machine. Intrigued, I looked into him further, and found he had a twitter. On there, I asked about this tape, here's what he had to say:
"I started writing and recording in 1979 I was 18.
About 1000 songs were written and recorded between
1979 to 2000 since then probably another 200.
It’s just for fun. I think I made about 12 dollars
in all that time"
