Carousel II – What I’m Doing
This excellent and enigmatic album was made in 1978 by this highly successful Detroit wedding band and represents their attempt, in the words of the band leader Chet Penkala, to do something "new and exciting". It's a hugely ambitious album of all original songs that are saturated with beauty, melancholy. It has such a unique, almost other-worldly vibe.
