Holly Tannen & Pete Cooper – Conversation with Death

An incredible, unsettling, and atmospheric interpretation of old Appalachian folk song (also known as 'Oh Death'). This one is based on the Doc Boggs arrangement, but sounds quite different to my ears. It really evokes the inherent darkness and dread of the song's theme. It has been performed many times by many different artists and, like many old folk songs, it has a really fascinating and storied history.

Star Surfer #3 [USA] Baked Lo-Fi Synthwave, Cosmic Psychedelic Rock, Outsider, Mystery Artist (1988)

Found this mystifying CDr simply sharpied, "Star Surfer '88 (Master)." It ranges from long form personal guitar wailing over ambient electronics, to tropical synth excursions, to cosmic cold-wave psychedelic rock and beyond. Here's a fave slice from the bunch: A stoned out motorik kraut-inspired Synthwave cruise through ever deeper dimensions of the soul...Or if someone passed Phil Collins a bong in the home studio;)
