Skull Valley Records Presents : The Sound of High Country

Skull Valley Records is proud to present our first Forgotten Musical Culture Mixtape.
"The Sound of High Country" is a personally curated playlist of eleven rare and unknown 1970's Long-haired Country gems dug up throughout the United States.
Though very loosely defined, most 70's "Long-haired" or "Hippie" Country music tends to blend many different styles together (Psychedelic Rock, Folk, even Funk) to create an easygoing, and "free" sound. Many of the artists and bands involved in this scene were also Free Spirited, an attitude that differed greatly from most Country music fans of the 70's.
Every artist you will hear in this mix released their music privately, sacrificing both their own time and money to release their songs. This determination and dedication furthermore displays the individuality and heart of the many musicians involved in this small, forgotten music scene.
