Nothing screams freedom or individuality like the assemblage of privately released American music from 1976. Doug Day & First Crossing's "You Were There" demonstrates this sentiment immaculately. It's not rock, it's not soul, it's bicentennial American music. From the Rhodes solo to the sunny, bouncy bass line, this one is as smooth as the '76 Trans Am blasting it down the I-10.

Panacea ~ Roll On ~ Private Early 70’s Arizona Folk Psych

Skull Valley Records presents, Panacea. An unknown gem until now, Panacea were a completely unknown Phoenix folk band that presumably only released this one single. My best guess is that this was recorded by the band and then mastered at Audio Recorders, Arizona as this is much to raw a production to get past Jack Miller. Most likely self financed by the band with an extremely limited amount pressed.
