Soothing Spa Collection [USA] Ambient, New Age, Tranquil Waves, Nature Sounds Field Recording (1993)

The type of tape i'm always looking for...A perfect cassette cover:)

i frequently wonder how considered something like this was. Did the person putting it together dig deep and know it was spicy hot fire from above OR was it just slapped together incidentally by someone who was 'at work', rushed out the door, and tossed to the wind to fill a quota(?) perhaps both??

Whatever the case, it seems to me, to have that sturdy quality of absolute certainty. Whoever designed this did not question a single decision, and this i feel, adds tremendously to it's simplicity and aesthetic charm. Of the cool stuff, being (incidentally) created and taken for granted today, i wonder what will stick out in the future as being particularly awesome looking...

The Gimmicks – Acapulco Sunset

The Gimmicks were a Swedish band that basically did a wonderfully loose and intensely groovy take on the Sergio Mendes sound. They recorded this album while on a residency at the Las Brasas Hotel in Acapulco....which also inspired this fantastic original song. Wish I could have seen them there!
