Dan Lewis – A3. Love From Afar

Dan Lewis - 1979 Towards The Light (Imaginary Records, Us)

Was there ever a lonelier place in the world than a phone booth outside of a bar?
Aching for love on a long distance line from a far..
Is it wise to pour feeling into metal machines.
When you're far from the one you hold dear?
As the traffice screams by, is it heartache you're straining to hear?

Telephone booth on the corner, finger in one ear to shut out thr world and to hold in the love fron afar...

Thru the finger smudged panes and the prostitutes's names
You are searching for someone in vain.
As you stand there alone, is the loving more real than the pain?
All alone in thr night ' neath a dull neon light and wind thru the door blowing cold,
Can you whisper mere words to the one
You are yearning to hold?

Telephone booth on the coner,
Finger in one ear to shut out the world
And to hold in the love from afar...
