Based on what I could find, he was an immigrant from Cuba who envisioned his new home town to be a hub for cultural vibrancy. "Hadassah" could possibly The Women's Zionist Organization that is located in Miami... I have no idea. It could also be a record for a fundraiser to build a hospital in Hadassah, Israel. Someone shoot me an email if you know anything other than the straws I'm grasping at.
