Michael Moore – Afraid Of Love
Outsider jazzy, soft-rock from the fairly unknown release "Morning Silence."
Attached to my copy was endearing note from Michael to a gatekeeper in the record industry. The story is rich and worth a read -- here it is:
"Mr. Gary Balaban,
Hi! I’m Michael Moore. In 1975, I was in my third year at Annapolis, when I underwent surgery at Bethesda to remove a brain tumor! I lost my voice, hearing in one ear, and other things; butI graduated. Since then, I began writing during four years at sea and working very hard to get my voice back. Now I’m a lieutenant in D.C., and I have completed a record with one of the top performing bands in the Southeast, “lyrics” and with Terry Taylor an excellent jazz guitarist who has played with George Benson, Earl Klugh, Pete Fountain, and many others. I wrote all words and music, did all arranging, and production. Seven radio stations in South Carolina and Georgia are currently playing selections from my record, and “Loving You” is the most popular selection, receiving many requests for airplay. The two “ Suite”’s at the beginning and end of the first side are very nice also. One thing I have learned, the record grows on people, and deserves listening when something soothing, relaxing is what you want. I’m very proud to offer this record to you I hope you like it and will play it.
